The cottage is located on Toddy Pond in Orland, Maine. Toddy Pond is 9 miles long and located between Ellsworth and Bucksport. The cottage is only 50 feet from the water's edge and the use of a canoe and kayaks is included. Swim, paddle the lake or sit at the water's edge and watch the loons, beaver and other lake inhabitants.
Bar Harbor (great for shopping, dining, sight-seeing, etc.) and Acadia National Park (hiking the trails, biking the Carriage Paths or just ocean viewing and bird watching) are 45 minutes away. Blue Hill with its unique galleries and shops is about 30 minutes. Camden is approximately 1 hour away.
Both gourmet and casual restaurants are nearby the cottage (about 15-20 minutes).
The kitchen offers a refrigerator with icemaker, gas stove and oven, microwave, coffee maker, picnic basket, pots, dishes, etc. and there is a gas grill for outdoor cooking.
The cottage has recently been updated with a small modern, gas fireplace and the outside deck has been enclosed. With these additions we will be renting the cottage into the fall foliage season.
The cottage is $595/week.
